In order to protect your account against unauthorized access, Neteller offers you the best existing method: "Two Factor Authentication."

The two Factor Authentication, also known as 2FA, is an extra layer of security that requires not only a password and email address but also something that only that user has on them, i.e. a 2FA code sent to their mobile device through a software security token.

Switch on the 2-factor authentication (2FA)

It is very easy and it is for the security of your account! It takes just few minutes of your time.


Please follow the described procedure:


1. In case you do not have the app yet, please install Google Authenticator on your smartphone. You will easily find it in Google Play/App Store and it is free to install and use;


2. Log into your NETELLER account and go to settings -> security settings. Click “enable” for Two-step authentication (refer to the image below);




















3. Click “enable” on the NETELLER two-step authentication setup and enter your secure ID to proceed;


4. Scan the QR barcode displayed to you on the setup screen;


5. Enter in Neteller the code displayed by the Google Authenticator and click on "continue"M


6. Your account is now set with 2FA.



Trusted device(s)

The trusted device is an option allows a hassle free secure login experience. Any devices not trusted will require customers to generate a 2-factor authentication code to login in.

When you login into MyAccount or Wallet Checkout with the 2-factor authentication you will be presented with a checkbox Trust this device. Checking this box will add the browser to your trusted devices list insidethe2-factor authenticationsection.


In case this is your personal device (computer, tablet, smartphont, etc.) and you wish to set it as "trusted", just click inside the box. If you take this action, next time that you use the same device(s), the above pop-up window will not appear anymore. 


You can add up to 5 trusted devices (browsers or mobile devices). You can remove old devices to add new ones through the trusted devices list in the 2-factor authentication section.

"Secure ID",  what is it and why do I need it?

While opening the Neteller account your are invited to provide several peronal details. At the end of the registration you receive an ID of 6 digits, please write it down and save it.


This is your personal ID and it will be needed each time you deposit to a merchant.


In case you forget or you lose the "Secure ID", you can easily set a new one. Login into your Neteller account providing email and password and look at the right page of the main page.

In the section "account overview", click on "Secure ID > RESET". You will receive an email with a link in order to set a new 6 digits code.
